Cyclone Pam 3/19

Titus and Alexis got in on the action today. Titus helped clean and fill 40+ water containers that will be distributed to villages here on Efate over the next couple of days, where people don't have access to clean water.
Meanwhile, Alexis was joined by Shawnda, Papa, Mema and Grayson at her school clean up day. It will be weeks before any schools are in session because of the widespread damages to classrooms and communities.
We are still enjoying hosting several from Etas Village each night. They are tirelessly working everyday to get their houses, kitchens and toilets in working order. The next and equally vital step will be gardens. We've begun purchasing seeds in anticipation. Still no mains electricity at our house, but the generator allows us to keep some things cool in the fridge, and do a couple of loads of laundry in the washing machine each morning.
I have to say what a blessing it has been to have Mema (Nancy Gray) and Papa (Robert Michael Gray) here with us. They've more than picked up the slack that's been created by our running here, there and everywhere. We always enjoy having them, but this has been at a different level altogether.
Northern island cell service was resumed late this evening, and it was a pleasure to speak briefly with Aiel (SW Bay, Malekula) and Houghton Gretchen Richards (Ambrym). We are still amazed by the ratio of deaths and injuries to physical damage. Phenomenally low!
Domestic flights have resumed to Santo and Tanna (only), and I am booked on a flight to Tanna for Saturday afternoon. The only reports we've read speak of widespread damage. I plan to visit four villages in as many days to check on our Christian family and assess the needs in those locations.
We continue to seek your prayers for wisdom as we try to minister effectively. The task is so large and often overwhelming. May we be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing glory to His name as we serve! Thanks so much for the shares, likes, comments, emails and calls. We really couldn't do it without you! And special thanks to all those who've donated funds at www.gofundme.com/oz6e9c. Your generosity is both encouraging and humbling. We've also learned that many have donated via check, and still more plan to take up special collections soon. Thanks, thanks, thanks! ~E
